Exquisitely crafted from 1 oz of 99.99% pure silver with flawless details, this coin from the Australian Lunar Series is an excellent gift or collectible for anyone born under the Chinese lunar year of the rabbit.
Every 12 years, a new Chinese zodiac year begins. 2023 marks the start of the Year of the Rabbit, an animal thought to bring luck, kindness & good fortune.
Rabbits have long been beloved for their fluffy, docile nature and playful behaviour. These small mammals are native to Europe and parts of Asia, living in underground burrows and consuming mostly vegetables.
Design & Features
The coin portrays an alert rabbit with its ears erect and another rabbit stretching towards a branch. Included in the design is the Chinese character for ‘rabbit’, the inscription ‘RABBIT 2023’ and The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark.
The obverse depicts the Jody Clark effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the coin’s weight, purity and monetary denomination.
Security
Each coin’s back side includes a security feature in the form of a micro-laser engraved letter within the design. It can only be detected under a magnifying glass and makes it significantly more difficult for the coin to be counterfeited.
