Bullion Exchanges joins music lovers worldwide in celebrating the release of the new 2022 1 oz Austrian Silver Philharmonic Coin. This stunning silver coin produced by the Austrian Mint honours the renowned Viennese Philharmonic Orchestra (“Wiener Philharmoniker”). These symphonic silver coins contain .999 fine silver and weigh 1 troy ounce, perfect for buying in bulk or collecting individually.
Austrian Philharmonic Coins were first produced as gold coins in 1989, with more fractional sizes added in the 90’s. The Silver version was first released in 2008, with Platinum following in 2016. These coins pay respect to the world-famous Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, established in 1842.
The obverse of the coin features the beautifully designed Musikverein Pipe Organ, located in the Golden Hall. This organ is the fourth version to be installed inside the concert hall since 1870.
The reverse of the coin, designed by engraver Thomas Pesendorfer, showcases an array of musical instruments: the Vienna Horn, Harp, and Bassoon, as well as a cello centred between four violins.
