Exquisitely crafted from 1/2 oz of pure gold with flawless details, this coin from the Australian Lunar Series is an excellent gift or collectible for anyone born under the Chinese lunar year of the rabbit.
Rabbits have long been beloved for their fluffy, docile nature and playful behaviour. These small mammals are native to Europe and parts of Asia, living in underground burrows and consuming mostly vegetables.
Rabbits are associated with kindness, loyalty, and trustworthiness. They often see situations from both sides allowing them to come up with creative solutions to difficult problems. This may be why people born in the Year of the Rabbit are often considered some of the wisest and most kindhearted members of society.
Design & Features
The Year of Rabbit 2023 coin portrays a rabbit hopping in grass, flourishing in its natural habitat. Included in the design is the Chinese character for ‘rabbit’, the inscription ‘RABBIT 2023’ and The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark.
The obverse depicts the Jody Clark effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the coin’s weight, purity and monetary denomination.
Each coin’s back side includes a security feature in the form of a micro-laser engraved letter within the design. It can only be detected under a magnifying glass and makes it significantly more difficult for the coin to be counterfeited.
