Barton Gold (ASX:BGD) has accomplished 12,500 meters of reverse circulation (RC) drilling, along with 1400 meters of diamond drilling (DD) at the extensions of the 223 deposit at its Tunkillia gold project located in South Australia.

Focusing primarily on the company’s satellite gold regions 223 North, Area 191, and Area 51, as well as a new target southeast of its 223 Deposit, the program is nearing completion.

Barton has transferred these assay results to the lab for prioritisation, in anticipation of a possible JORC resources update. Concurrently, DD drilling has begun at its Area 51 gold zone.

In addition, the company has initiated RC drilling on its newly identified shear zone ‘offset’ southeast of its 223 deposit, with the goal of excavating an additional 4000 meters.

Subsequently, Barton plans to move its RC drill rig to its Area 51 deposit to execute a final 1500-meter phase of RC drilling, thus completing the present drill program at Tunkillia.

“We anticipate drilling in excess of 20,000 metres prior to the conclusion of 2023 while conducting a simultaneous analysis of the updated 223 Deposit,” stated BGD Managing Director Alex Scanlon.

“Our focus is on the extensions of the 223 Deposit, new deposits, and fresh discoveries as we endeavour to expand Tunkillia’s large-scale footprint.”

Shares of BGD experienced a 2.13 per cent increase, trading at 24 cents as of 10:46 am AEDT.
